Yoga-inspired gentle exercises, breathing and positions for birth. Relax, Stretch & Breathe

Welcome to Berenice and Rebecca's website, we provide bespoke yoga-inspired exercise classes to expectant mothers with classes in Derby, Mickleover and Little Eaton.

Our weekly exercise classes give mothers-to-be, whether they are expecting their first, second or subsequent babies, an opportunity to get together with other pregnant mothers. They gain many benefits for pregnancy and birth, and spend time relaxing. Each week we do an hour of gentle yoga-inspired exercises and stretches especially designed for pregnant women to prepare them for birth and beyond. These very popular classes also focus on breathing techniques, positions for labour and therapeutic relaxation.

The sessions are run in an Active Birth format with breathing exercises, relaxation and positions for labour, which are fundamental to the yoga-inspired exercises part of the class. Another important aspect of the classes is Topic Time, where we discuss pregnancy, birth and life with a new baby; such as optimal foetal positioning (getting baby in the right position for birth) exploring pain and how to cope in labour and life with a newborn baby. Many of the mums return to share their birth stories, which the other mothers-to-be find really enjoyable and helpful. During this Topic Time, the last 30 minutes, we also provide light refreshments.

The aim for these sessions is for you to have an enjoyable and relaxing time, whilst improving your physical and emotional well-being and increasing your positive birth experience. They are gentle exercises that are safe and suitable for beginners if you haven't done them before.

Although these classes are weekly drop-in sessions, they are very popular, so please contact us first to see if a place is available. Thank you.

Things that really helped me were the breathing exercises, being able to concentrate on taking deep breaths during labour which helped me to use the gas and air properly later on in my birth. I also appreciated the after class discussions, they were very informative and also it was helpful to have second time mums giving their opinions from having their first babies. Thanks once again for your classes, I learnt a lot from them and have also met some really nice people that hopefully I will stay in touch with.
